What we collect
Only what you give us, and how you found us. Signing in takes your email address, and your name if you choose to add it. When you first sign up, we also record how you found the site: the first page you landed on, the site that sent you there, and any campaign tags in the link. We don't ask for anything else, and we don't infer or scrape additional data about you from anywhere.
Where it lives
Your email is stored in Beans' own database, hosted on Cloudflare. We use it to send you a sign-in link and, occasionally, a note about the product (see below). It is monitored by Mike, the person building Beans. We don't hand it to a third-party marketing service.
What we use it for
Two emails, in most cases. First, the sign-in link itself when you sign in. Second, a launch notice when there's actually something for you to try.
We may write a third if something genuinely interesting changes between now and launch. We will never share your email, sell it, or use it for generic marketing automation. There is no list-share with any other product or service.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Umami for page-view analytics. Umami is cookie-free, doesn't fingerprint your browser, and doesn't transmit personally identifying information. It tells us how many people viewed which pages, which referrer they arrived from, and roughly which country they're in. Nothing more.
One small cookie of our own, beans_first, remembers the first page you landed on, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link, for up to 90 days. If you sign up, that goes with your account so we know which pages bring people to Beans. We don't share it with anyone.
Removing your data
Reply to any email from us with the word remove, or write to hello@heybeans.com, and your email is permanently deleted from our database within 24 hours. No friction, no follow-up survey, no "are you sure?" exit-intent popup.
Future products
This page describes the privacy posture for pre-launch sign-in only. The actual Beans product, when it ships, will operate under CDR Open Banking and a separate, more detailed privacy policy that reflects the additional data flows involved. We'll publish that here.
Questions, complaints, regulators
Email hello@heybeans.com first. We'll respond within a working week. If you're in Australia and not satisfied with our response, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner is the relevant regulator.
